Analysis of Cooling Load in the 9.5x7x3 Training Room of XYZ Company

The comfort of a room depends largely on its location, characteristics, and activities. Therefore, it requires an air conditioning unit with an appropriate cooling load. The training room at XYZ Company, which is used for training and recruitment activities and accommodates 30 people daily, needs sufficient cooling. This research aims to determine the cooling load for the AC unit in the training room. The research method involves literature review and observation. Observations include various occurrences such as the angle of sunlight, measuring the temperature of the outer and inner walls, various existing accessories, and the types of activities performed. Calculations are then conducted based on the literature review. The research results in the XYZ Company training room, amounts to 66112,31 btu/h of sensible heat. According to the available market AC capacity, a 1 PK AC compressor is allocated 9000 btu/h (Sabarudin, 2014). Based on the calculations and data, the XYZ Company training room requires ±1 unit of 7,5 PK AC, or ±3 units of 2,5 PK AC, to achieve a comfortable room condition (24°C).
